This is a speculation, a project without a client, where we investigated a design that could be applied to a variety of typical retail layouts common in New York City (and elsewhere). Also Office developed the practical metaphor of a single metallic ‘thread,’ pliable enough to weave through a variety of spaces as it transforms from a clothing rail to shoe presentation, and from fitting areas to accessory display, as it unites interconnected product zones.
